Black Island Wildlife Management Area
Two miles west of town along River Road, Black Island Wildlife Management Area has 240 acres along the Elkhorn River. It is partly wooded – cottonwoods, mostly – and partly grass-covered. Wildlife includes deer, dove, pheasant, quail, rabbit, squirrel and waterfowl.

Indian Trails Golf Course
From the park, Indian Trails Golf Course, near Beemer, is just across the river.

Izaak Walton Recreation Area
An Izaak Walton Recreation Area is also across the river from the park.

River Park
River Park offers more than a mile of Elkhorn River frontage, with RV and camper facilities, boat ramp, horse pens, ball fields, kids’ fishing pond and restrooms with showers. To find it, turn south at the stoplight in town.
