Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area

Choose from 20 man-made lakes on 300 acres at an area that is open year-round. Activities include birding, fishing, swimming, boating, camping and picnicking. Offers hard-surfaced pads situated among mature shade trees. Picnicking and primitive camping. 300 tents, 200 trailers, $10-$14. Gas-powered boating is allowed only on Victory Lake and Lake 20. All others allow only electric trolling motors. The area has three swimming beaches and a lake specially redesigned for personal watercraft.

This beautiful 25-room mansion built by Fremont’s first mayor, Theron Nye, is a wonderful setting for a light brunch or a fine dining experience. Other options may include a formal high-tea or hors d’oeuvres and a wine tasting event. This historical venue has a beautiful lawn and garden setting suited for a variety of outdoor experiences.
