Heritage Power Tractor Show
/in Genoa Events, History & Culture /by Travel CouncilHeritage Power
Association is sponsoring the 13th annual Antique Tractor and Equipment Show on
August 3rd and 4th at Genoa, Nebraska. This year visitors will be able to
observe the “old fashioned” way of farming and relive history. The association
will be binding & threshing wheat, corn shelling & binding corn,
check-row planting and cultivating and having a tractor driving contest.
There is an Ice Cream Social, kettle corn plus a lunch stand on the
grounds. A Kiddie Tractor Pull and daily tractor parade. Flea
market space is free. Heritage Power invites the whole family and encourages
them to bring their favorite antique tractor, car, truck and show it off and
drive it in the daily parade. The show is in the tree shaded city park with new
swimming pool. Nance county was the former Pawnee Reservation in Nebraska and
Genoa was the agency headquarters. From 1884 to 1934 there was a Native
American Boarding School also which is a National Historic Site. The U.S.
Indian
School Interpretive Center/Museum and the Genoa Museum featuring Pawnee
and Mormon displays will be open both afternoons. All of these activities make
this a great weekend to “step into the past’ and witness farming as it was for
Grandpa when he was a boy.
